Are You Ok: Chair and CEO Letter to AustCham Shanghai Members
Dear Members and Friends,
Are You Ok
It's true that everyone in Shanghai is going through this recent Covid outbreak, but we are highly aware that not everyone is in exactly the same situation. Whether it is food supply, passports, flights, family unity, illness, pets, or work, your worries and concerns are important to Simon, myself, the Board and the AustCham Shanghai team, and we are here for you to do everything we can to help and support.
More than ever, it is important for us to have sympathy, respect, and work in solidarity as we move forward over the next few days and weeks. We have been connecting with the Australian Consulate who have raised with local authorities the impact of current restrictions on Australians and their families. Our goal is to get through this together as swiftly as possible and are aware of the pressure on our community and the massive pressure on the local government to take care or all people in Shanghai.
Australian Consulate Contact
If you have any urgent issues or require consular assistance for help or guidance, please reach out to +86 21 2215 5200 or consular.shanghai@ dfat.gov.au.
Our thoughts are with you, and we will be reaching out to you individually over the next few days to check in and see how you are. Stay positive and supportive of your family, friends, colleagues, and the communities you are in. Take the time to reach out to people close to you, and those you have not connected with in a while.
Official COVID-19 Updates
In order to keep updated on the official news and requirements regarding Shanghai's latest outbreak, I would encourage you and everyone within the overall Australia-China community to follow the official WeChat account (上海发布) for the latest official COVID-19 updates.
Mental Health Support
AustCham Shanghai continues to work closely with and supports Lifeline as one of our charity partners because we understand their importance within the community. During lockdown, mental health is extremely important, and we encourage you to support each other, or alternatively confidentially reach out to Lifeline via their official WeChat: LifelineConnect.
Simon, myself and the overall AustCham Shanghai Board and team are available at any time, so please feel free to reach out directly.
Together we can have incredible strength by sharing light, hope and a laugh with others.
Regards,
Heidi Dugan
