AustCham Shanghai Board Update
AustCham Shanghai is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Milne, the Executive Director for the University of Sydney Centre in China, as a Board Director, filling a recently vacated position.
Michael was appointed as the Executive Director of the University of Sydney’s China Centre in late 2018. He has worked at the University of Sydney since 2010, as Chief Operating Officer of the University’s Brain and Mind Centre till 2013 and then as the Chief Operating Officer of the Charles Perkins Centre till 2020.
Michael has worked in various roles in the higher education and public sector for more than 25 years, bringing a wealth of expertise in an important industry for the community, government relations and the Chamber.
Michael’s appointment was a recommendation by the AustCham Shanghai Nominations Committee, in accordance with Clause 9, Schedule B of the Members Charter. In the recent elections and Annual General Meeting (AGM), Michael received the next highest number of votes.
Michael will join the Board effective immediately and hold term until the 2023 AGM.
