Webinar Recap | Regulatory Update: The End of Animal Testing on Imported Cosmetics
AustCham Shanghai in partnership with Knudsen&CRC, King&Wood Mallesons and China Skinny hosted a webinar last Thursday, April 8th to discuss the regulatory changes in animal testing for imported cosmetics to Mainland China. We would like to thank Mette Knudsen, Mark Schaub and Mark Tanner for providing such an informative and insightful session for our attendees.
Mette Knudsen talked through the product filing process and dossiers under the new regulations, the definition of the responsible person, introduced the cosmetic efficacy claim checklist and the raw material declaration process and dossier.
Mark Schaub explained with us the pre-requisites and exceptions for selling cruelty-free cosmetics in mainland China, the type of imported cosmetics products that can avoid animal testing through cross-border eCommerce, and also certain facts to consider including the recognition of QMS, potential overseas inspection, etc.
Mark Tanner talked from the marketing and branding point of view focusing on how brands should be viewing China's loosening cruelty-free regulations.
