AustCham Shanghai Summer BBQ 2017 Highlights
On Saturday 13 May, AustCham Shanghai's annual Summer BBQ returned for its third consecutive year, proudly supported by Shanghai United Family Hospital.
Over 1,100 friends and members of the Chamber attended the event at Wellington College International Shanghai which provided the perfect backdrop for an entertainment-packed day for the local and international communities. Guests were able to satisfy their tastebuds with a wide variety of finger-licking concoctions prepared by our fantastic food vendors Kakadu, First Cut, El Santo, Hooked, Fields, We Love We Care, DiBella and Pudong Shangri-La, washing it all down with a stellar selection of Australian beer and wine provided by 31Jiu, DeBortoli Wines, Liquid Solutions Asia and Temple Brewing Company.
This year the event also brought 14 teams from around Asia together to compete in the inaugural AFL Asia Shanghai Cup to the delight of all footy fans present on the day. The scorching heat didn't stop players from putting on a spectacular show for the tournament, which saw the Malaysian Warriors and Shanghai Tigers bring the silverware home in the Masters Division and Open Division respectively.
The day's festivities also featured fun kids activities, with Kakadu's bouncy castle, Shanghai United Family Hospital's "Little Doctor" game, a painting and colouring station from the Asian Tigers and an adventure playground supervised by coaches from Discovery Adventures Moganshan.
Thanks to attendees' generous support during the silent auction and raffle, we were able to raise over 18,000 RMB for our CSR partner Home Sweet Home. We’d like to thank the wide range of sponsors, partners, stallholders, prize donors and volunteers who helped make the day a tremendous success!
