Event Objective
For international SMEs, starting a business in China can be a critical decision, as there are too many aspects to consider and risks to control.
First of all, when or whether to build up your factories in China?
For manufacturing companies, there are several advantages of setting up factories in China. Localizing your production can improve your competitiveness in terms of price, delivery time and after sales support. However, are there only positive outcomes by setting up an independent factory?
The essential premise to set up a factory in China is the ground. Normally the minimum ground you can probably rent from government is around 3000 sqm. Therefore the upfront investment is huge for ordinary SMEs. Moreover, the management of the facility, employment of the local team and operational running of the factory take a lot of time and money as well.
When you have decided to build your factory in China, how to choose the location?
There are a number of factors you need to take into consideration:
- How supportive is the local government?
- Are there any grants I can get from the local government?
- What are the investment and environment requirement in the place you are building your factory?
- Do I need to set it up near the suppliers or customers?
Do you know that there is an alternative way to build your factory but save your time and investment?
