Financial Education Rolled Out for Students Across Shanghai
Over the last 6 months, several international schools across Shanghai have been running financial education workshops, in partnership with St. James's Place, for their students.

Financial education has never been more important in our day and age to prepare children for the real world and life after school. In a world where people are living healthier and longer, achieving financial security has now become a priority to ensure that we have enough savings to last us for our retirement. It is therefore essential for everyone, at any age, to understand the value of money, and importantly, learn how to manage it effectively.
St. James's Place and Principle Partner Practice Eight Wealth International offer this service to the international schools as part of their corporate social responsibility plans and mimics much of the approved material from their UK operations, tailored for China. Financial education is equipping ourselves with the right knowledge and skills to help us make more informed decisions and manage our day-to-day finances more effectively – this can include our ability to create and own a budget, track spending, calculate interests on savings, manage loans and plan for retirement.
The sessions which were rolled out across Shanghai were for all age groups via in-class workshops on budgeting/saving/risk vs reward (ages 12-16), online learning via the digital www.sjpasiamoney123.com portal (ages 3-17) and interactive seminars for the senior students (ages 16-18), preparing them for life after school.
