Recap: Travel Update with Fragomen

On Thursday July 7th, AustCham Shanghai hosted a panel discussion with Fragomen on Post-COVID Talent Movement: Entering and Exiting China. The panel discussion provided an overview of China’s latest entry and exit requirements and best practices for businesses within the current immigration framework. The panel discussion was moderated by Roy Ren, Senior Director at Fragomen, and featured guest speakers Iris Zhang, Director at Fragomen, and Kayla Lu, Regional Leader for Mobility & Immigration at General Electric (GE).

Iris from Fragomen presented on the latest processes for entering China including current exemption policies and advice on increasing success rates for visa-applications. While Chinese embassies are now accepting applications from those vaccinated with Chinese vaccines, challenges remain in accessing Chinese vaccines overseas and finding open visa offices.

Kayla discussed how GE adapted business operations within the current immigration framework. Kayla stressed the importance of staying up to date with travel requirements, digitizing internal processes to cater for remote work and integrating risk management teams to be more agile for last minute changes.

AustCham Shanghai would like to thank all members who attended the event and our speakers for their insights.
