Ryan is Head of Digital at RedFern, a China-focused marketing agency assisting with Branding, Social Media, Digital Advertising and Ecommerce.

After having spent 17 years in China, he has a solid understanding of Chinese marketing and digital platforms. During his time at RedFern, he has worked with dozens of foreign brands entering the China market on strategy, creative, digital advertising and Ecommerce with brands such as NIB, McCain’s, SPC and Carman’s Kitchen.

Prior to his time at RedFern, Ryan founded an agency in Suzhou focusing on Offline Events, Digital Marketing and Hospitality for foreign businesses.

RedFern Digital believe that commercially-driven Marketing KPIs combined with strong Ecommerce Strategy is the key to success in the China market and work with their brands in order to achieve this goal.

Unice Liu
General Manager, Baldwin Boyle Group China

Passionate about helping brands craft authentic stories that resonate with their stakeholders in China, Unice has led strategic communications programmes for multi-national and Asian corporates across food and beverage, manufacturing, travel and tourism, real estate and education sectors. Her expertise include strategic stakeholder engagement, crisis and issues management, thought leadership building, media relations and digital engagement.

Based in Shanghai, Unice and her team are focused on helping foreign businesses navigate and leverage China’s media and digital landscape, to best achieve their business objectives.

Chris Carr

Partner, MinterEllison Shanghai

Chris specialises in cross border M&A, private equity, joint ventures, foreign direct investment (FDI) and other commercial transactions. Chris has extensive experience working with Chinese clients and counterparties and has worked on some of the most prominent China related M&A transactions in the past decade. He has lived in China for almost 10 years, including 7 years working on the ground in Beijing with a magic circle law firm. Chris speaks and reads fluent Chinese (Mandarin) which, combined with his Australian education and training, is highly valuable to clients in complex and difficult cross border negotiations.

Jim Hayman

Partner, Mining & Metals Practice

Jim Hayman is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Melbourne office and is a partner of the Mining & Metals Practice, which he established. Jim also works in the manufacturing sector and the engineering and consulting sectors, particularly as they relate to mining. His role in the mining and metals sector involves frequent travel to the world's key mining centers.

Jim is also a key member of the firm’s Chief Executive Officer & Board of Directors Practice. He has conducted chairman and non-executive director searches across a broad range of companies in many industries in Australia and New Zealand. Many of these searches have been global in scope.

Simon Laing
Head of PR and Event management, Edge Consulting Group

Simon has 18 years of experience in China and knows the dynamics of Western companies doing business in 2nd and 3rd tier cities.

Prior to working at Edge Consulting, Simon worked for 8 year at Crown Worldwide group providing logistics services to most of the western companies in the region. Simon is also the co-organizer of the Nanjing Professionals club an Nanjing International Club.

The Chamber will have to charge you full-price for the event if you do not cancel your attendance by the stated time. This is necessary to cover costs automatically incurred by AustCham Shanghai for events on registered attendees’ behalf.
