AustCham Shanghai is led by a team at the Secretariat who look after the day-to-day operations of the Chamber. The Chamber has 4 departments across Membership, Project & Event, Marketing & Communications and Finance & Administration.

Simon Woods

CEO and Executive Director

Simon Woods is the CEO and Executive Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AustCham Shanghai). He leads the secretariat in all matters to provide value to members of the Chamber and broader Chinese-Australian communities.

Simon has lived and worked in Shanghai since 2016, and brings a wealth of operational, China and global management experience. Prior to his time in China, Simon resided in Australia, where he developed a diverse range of knowledge across industries including logistics, FMCG, security and finance.

Simon utilises his broad range of industry, global management, and China-Australia experience to ensure a strong strategic direction for AustCham Shanghai that maximises member value, encourages and strengthens relationships, and develops improved understanding of China and Australia.

Judy Zhu

Senior Relationship Manager

Judy Zhu is a Senior Relationship Manager at AustCham Shanghai and works with members to further their business interests by ensuring they have access to all the networking, support, advocacy and services that the Chamber provides.

 

Judy had been employed as the Director of Business Development for Government of Western Australian Trade and Investment Office in China for over 14 years prior to her joining AustCham Shanghai. She also worked as a Senior Student and Policy Adviser at a VET in Brisbane, and operated her own education and tourism business in Sydney after graduating from the university.

 

Judy obtained a Master of Commerce degree from Macquarie University.

Miley Yin

Project & Event Manager 

Miley Yin is the Project & Event Manager at AustCham Shanghai. In this role, Miley works closely with members and the community to coordinate business delegations and key projects and arranges professional development training programs. As a member of the newest department of the Chamber, Miley is also involved in event management and the China HQ Program.

Miley holds a master degree in Arts in English (Education/TESOL) from the University of Southampton.

Judy Shen

Finance Manager

Judy Shen supports financial matters and general office administration tasks. Previous to joining AustCham Shanghai, Judy was a project assistant for a local shipping company. Judy has a maritime law degree from Shanghai Maritime University.

Katrina Zhong

Financial and Admin Assistant 

Katrina Zhong is the Financial and Admin Assistant at AustCham Shanghai. In this role, she provides support to financial matters and general office administration tasks.

Prior to joining AustCham Shanghai, Katrina worked as accountant assistant for an international trading company in New Zealand. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Auckland University of Technology.

Knox Xiao

Event Associate

Knox Xiao is an Event Associate at AustCham Shanghai, with expertise in event planning and execution. With a solid background in international event management, Knox excels in organizing and coordinating high-profile events, ensuring flawless execution and impactful outcomes. A proactive and self-driven professional, Knox approaches each challenge with a problem-solving mindset to deliver efficient solutions. Knox holds a Master’s degree in International Event Management from the University of Surrey.

Kevin Wang

Relationship Associate

Kevin Wang is a 2022 graduate in Public Administration from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. He has gained valuable experience in both data analysis and relationship management, demonstrating his ability to manage complex systems and track key metrics. Currently a Relationship Associate at AustCham Shanghai, Kevin is responsible for overseeing member engagement, managing CRM systems, and supporting the delivery of various projects and events. With a strong foundation in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, Kevin is driven to continue learning and growing professionally, eager to take on new challenges and contribute to organizational success.

Keen to take your first step into the professional world? AustCham Shanghai has a flexible internship program across our Membership, Events, Communications, Business Engagement and Finance departments.

 

As an AustCham Shanghai intern you will have a chance to:

  • develop hands-on experience while completing your studies;
  • expand your professional network in Shanghai and beyond;
  • attend business meetings with senior managers;
  • work independently on cross-department projects;
  • and gain valuable insights into how various industries operate in China.
